Press Release October 27th 2004 Limited Edition Ornament AvailableFor the seventh-consecutive year, the Wayne County Historical Society has commissioned a limited edition Christmas tree ornament/medallion. The Stourbridge Lion locomotive is featured this year, the 175th anniversary of its original run. This three-dimensional 24 kt. gold finish ornament comes with a short history of the locomotive on an insert card and is packaged in a gift box. The cost is $15.00. In addition to the historical society’s Museum Shop, at 810 Main Street, Honesdale, this ornament may be purchased at the following Honesdale locations while supplies last: Stephen’s Pharmacy, Morning Glory Gift, Living Country Home, Party Perfection, Wallflower, Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and Treasurer’s office. The Looking Glass Gallery in Hawley is also selling the ornament. In addition, the Wayne County Historical Society’s Museum Shop has other
new items including the 2005 Honesdale National Bank/WCHS calendar (available
after Dec. 1st) , several books, local art (including a Giclee prints of the
oil, Young Woman in Pink and Green, by Jennie Brownscombe), crafts on consignment,
and more. The Museum Shop is open Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
through 2004. Free parking is in the rear of the buildings. VISA/MC accepted. All sales support
the activities of this not for profit organization whose purpose is to collect,
preserve, and teach about the history of Wayne County. |
