On Friday, June 21, from 8 to 10 pm at the Cooperage, the Wayne County Historical Society will put the fun in fundraising at the First Annual Hysterical Society Variety Show. Everyones favorite emcee, Bob Mermell, will present an evening of entertainment by local talent, while the audience enjoys an all you can eat dessert buffet, including coffee, tea and water.
For many years, the Societys unofficial nickname has been the Hysterical Society, so this year the fundraising committee has decided to throw decorum to the winds and invite members, friends and people who dont know us from Adam to relax for a couple of hours and enjoy a barrel of laughs accompanied by a sugar rush (jest desserts). WCHS has lined up some of Wayne Countys most dynamic performers, including comedians Roger Hunt, Jeff Hiller and Lars Hanson; Ramona Jan and her Marionettes, Bob Friedhoffer and his Scientific Magic and the Crackers! And who knows? There may be some surprises before the evening is out!
Price for the show and all-you-can-eat dessert buffet is $20 for Wayne County Historical Society members who order tickets in advance and $25 for non-members. All tickets at the door are $25. The Cooperage, Wayne Countys newest place to gather, is located at 1030 Main St., Honesdale. For more information, call 570-253-3240 or visit our website, WayneHistoryPA.org.
