Press Release February 23rd 2008 Wayne County Historical Society Seeks NominationsThe Wayne County Historical Society has scheduled its annual Historic Preservation Awards open house for Saturday, October 25, 2008, from 4 to 6 pm at the society’s museum at 810 Main Street.The public is invited to submit nominations for awards to be given in three categories: residential, commercial and community-oriented (non-profit). Preservation of a building can include conservation, renovation, restoration, rehabilitation or adaptive re-use. Awards will be given to those projects which follow the U. S. Department of Interior’s “Guidelines for Historic Preservation” (available on their website or in the WCHS Research Library) as closely as possible.
